Voice to be Heard: Sojourner Truth
Discover the power of one voice to inspire change, challenge injustice, and shape history.
This program has been created for grades 3 – 8 and is about Sojourner Truth, an Abolitionist, an advocate for women’s and African-Americans’ right to vote, and Civil Rights activist. While attendees will hear some stories about Sojourner Truth, they will also connect these stories to how they can use their voices to make change. In the end they will learn that their voice matters, just as Sojourner Truth’s voice still matters today. 50 – 60 minutes (can be adjusted).
